Childhood Cancer International (CCI)

Childhood Cancer International was founded in 1994, as an umbrella organisation of childhood cancer grassroots and national parent organisations.

Today, CCI is the largest patient support organization for childhood cancer. It is a global, parent-driven non-profit that represents more than 200 parent organizations, childhood cancer survivor associations, childhood cancer support groups, and cancer societies, in over 98 countries, across 6 continents. It is the only non-medical organization representing families of children with cancer worldwide.

In 2010, CCI (then known as ICCCPO) was granted Special Consultative Status by the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (UN ECOSOC). In 2018, CCI entered into Official Relations with the WHO as a non-State actor.

Pau Kwong Wun Charitable Foundation (PKW) has been a member of CCI since 2004. PKW's Founder and Chairperson, Benson Pau, served as CCI Chairman from 2008 to 2011 and as a Board Member from 2005 to 2015. He was named an Honorary Member in 2017.

Through his voluntary work with CCI, Benson has promoted the development and capacity building of parent groups in various low and middle-income countries across Asia, enabling them to better serve their local childhood cancer communities. He has served as the Regional Chair of CCI Asia since 2016.
